ORGANIC IMPLANT AND COATING MATERIAL THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic implant stable even when embedded in an organism over a long period of time without lowering mechanical characteristics and capable of being bonded to a natural bone and a coating material for producing the same. SOLUTION: A living body implant material is constituted by forming a coating layer based on an alumina powder and an org. polymer harmless to a living body. The alumina powder contains at least δ-Al2 O3 crystals and γ-Al2 O3 crystals or non-crystalline alumina as constituents. In the production of this implant material, a coating material based on the alumina powder containing at least δ-Al2 O3 crystals and γ-Al2 O3 crystals or non-crystalline alumina as constituents and the org. monomer harmless to a living body is used.
