PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high image quality of satisfactory color tone without blur in a color boundary with excellent reproducibility a fine line by incorporating at least one type of surfactant represented by a specific formula in image recording accelerating liquid in a method for recording an image to form an image adhered to a material to be recorded by discharging recording liquid as liquid droplets. SOLUTION: Image recording accelerating liquid comprises at least one type of surfactant represented by a formula I (where R1 , R2 indicates 3C alkyl group which may be branched, and M indicates alkali metal, ammonium, or alkanolamine), formula II (wherein R3 , R4 indicates 5-7C alkyl group, and m indicates integer of 5 to 20), formula III (where R5 indicates a 6-14C carbon chain which may be branched, and n indicates integer of 5 to 20), and formula IV (where R6 indicates 6-14C carbon chain which may be branched, and m, n indicate integers of 0 to 20). |
