PURPOSE: To prevent the number of switching elements from increasing in proportion to the number of loads when a plurality of electric loads are turned ON/ OFF selectively by means of a pair of series switching elements and to enhance the safety by providing at least one of the pair of switching elements with a short circuit failure detection circuit. CONSTITUTION: Each of the loads 12a, 12b is provided with a first switching element 13a, 13b for exclusive use. A single second switching element 15 is provided commonly for all loads 12a, 12b in series therewith. The first switching elements 13a, 13b are provided, respectively, with short circuit failure detection circuits 21a, 21b. Upon detection of a short circuit failure in any one of the short circuit failure detection circuits 21a, 21b, the second switching element 15 is turned OFF forcibly. Preferably, the common second switching element 15 is also provided with a short circuit failure detection circuit 22 and the first switching elements 13a, 13b are turned OFF forcibly when a short circuit failure is detected. |
