PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid bleach composition improved in bleaching power and storage stability of the constituent alkali metal hypochlorite by mixing an alkali metal hypochlorite with an alkali metal hydroxide, an anionic surfactant and a buffer in a specified mixing ratio. SOLUTION: The alkali metal hypochlorite used is desirably sodium hypochlorite and is used in an amount of 0.1-8wt.% based on the composition. It is desirable from the viewpoint of storage stability that the sodium hypochlorite contains 0.1-10wt.%, based on the composition sodium chloride. The alkali metal hydroxide used is desirably sodium hydroxide and is used in an amount of 0.1-0.9wt.%, based on the composition. The anionic surfactant used is a compound of formula I (wherein R<1> is a 6-18C alkyl; m is 1-20; and M is a cation) or formula II (wherein R<2> is a 6-18C alkyl; n is 1-45; and M is a cation) and is used in an amount of 0.1-5wt.% based on the composition. The buffer is exemplified by phosphoric acid or a salt thereof and is used in an amount of 0.1-5wt.%, based on the composition. |
