Programmable automatic welder especially for plastic pipe fittings

A welder, esp. for synthetic materials, has a controller (1) which regulates the amount of heat applied by a heater (3) during the welding process. The controller (1) has an input device (4) or reader to accept material data and a control circuit (6) to regulate the electrical output according to the required value (10). The value (10) is calculated by a processing unit (5) according to the data and a stored program. The processing unit (5) can run different programs held in a store according to an input command code.
