The sign casing, in the shape of a letter, numeral or other signifier, consists of a front panel (2) of synthetic resin material, connected to a base panel (4) by a metal lateral wall (8). The front panel is secured to the edge of the lateral wall by an adhesive compatible with its resin material. The inner surface of the front panel has a groove (10) running around its periphery at a short distance from the edge, which cooperates with a shaped edge (8') of the lateral wall to define a seat for the adhesive. The lateral wall is attached to the base panel by means of screws (5) engaging a projecting rib (6) to trap a sealing gasket (14) between the wall and base panel.
