摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main spindle end displacement correction device for a machine tool, which corrects with high accuracy in a real time operation base the deviation of the position in the axial direction of a spindle as a result of the thermal deformation of the main spindle and other causes. SOLUTION: A noncontact type displacement meter 17 is mounted on a spindle housing 1 rotatably supporting a main spindle 5, and a gap size G interspaced in the axial direction with a flange surface 19 provided for a place close to the tip end of the main spindle 5, is measured by the noncontact type displacement meter 17. A correction value for the position in the axial direction of the main spindle 5 is operated by a Z axis correction value operating means based on the gap size G in the axial direction measured by the noncontact type displacement meter 17, and the position command in the axial direction of the main spindle 5 is thereby corrected by a correction value computed by the Z axis correction value operating means, so that the deviation of the position in the axial direction of the main spindle 5 caused by thermal deformation and the like is thereby canceled.
