PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the service life of a photosensitive drum while a sharp developing is performed even when electrophotographic rapid printing is performed. SOLUTION: In this developing device, an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive drum is developed by rotating a developing roller and the photosensitive drum in the same rotation direction. The load given between the developing roller and the photosensitive drum is controlled to >=2.0g per 1mm in the axial direction of the developing roller. When the calculation of (absolute line velocity of the outermost surface of the developing roller)/(absolute moving rate of the photoreceptor surface) is >=1.5, the amt. of a powder abrasive as an external additive to be added to the toner is specified to >=0.5 pts.wt. and <=0.9 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the original toner. |
