PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a speech in either mode, to avoid troublesome manual mode switching and to attain a speech at an inexpensive charge when the portable terminal is not moving by providing a means that detects the operating condition of the portable terminal having the PHS mode and the portable telephone mode and makes a call in the mode in matching with the operating condition. SOLUTION: Since a means that detects an operating condition of the portable terminal is provided for the portable terminal, when the operating condition of the portable terminal is detected, a call is automatically made in the mode in matching with the operating condition, and a call is automatically made in the proper mode, e.g. without a troublesome mode switching during movement and an excellent speech state is ensured. Whether a 1st mode is selected or a 2nd mode is selected is discriminated depending on the frequency of position registration within a prescribed time. That is, many frequencies of position registration indicate that the terminal is moving and the mode is set to the portable telephone mode. |
