PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect low contrast line defect(line non-uniformity) with high precision by generating a picture for line non-uniformity extraction, and binarizing the picture for line non-uniformity extraction by using a prescribed threshold value. SOLUTION: Each picture element of the concentration picture of an LCD panel is used as a picture element under consideration, and the adding operation of pixel values is executed in each vertical direction, horizontal direction, and at least two oblique directions in a prescribed range with the picture element under consideration as a center for each picture element under consideration, and the maximum value among each arithmetic result is used as the pixel value of the picture element under consideration so that a picture for line non-uniformity extraction can be generated. Then, this picture for line non-uniformity extraction is binarized by using a prescribed threshold value so that line non-uniformity can be detected. Also, the adding operation can be attained for more than two directions arbitrarily selected from four directions L1-L4 in the generation processing of the picture for line non-uniformity extraction. Also, the line non-uniformity can be extracted regardlessly of the direction or thickness of the line non-uniformity. |
