When the driver performs emergency braking, a braking force controller generates a braking force reflecting the intension of the driver. When the driver performs the emergency braking, the braking force controller generates a large boosted braking hydraulic pressure in comparison with the normal braking. The braking operation speed is detected. In accordance with the braking operation speed, the emergency braking is detected. When an emergency braking is detected, an assist pressure corresponding to the braking operation speed generated by the emergency braking is added to generate a boosted braking hydraulic pressure.
