PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a substantial area of an image with isolated black level pixels and isolated white level pixels among a plurality of areas by preparing a plurality of kinds of division patterns used to convert a pixel under notice and selecting any of a plurality of kinds of the division patterns, depending on a received division pattern selection signal. SOLUTION: A pattern table section 4 stores a pattern group referenced by a pattern-matching section 3, especially three division patterns 1, 2, 3 where a ratio of black level pixels differs corresponding to white level pixels adjacent to an isolated black level picture element, black level pixels adjacent to an isolated white level pixel, and white level pixels adjacent to a thin-line black level pixel. The pattern table section 4 selects any of the three division patterns, in response to a selection signal received from a main body device into which an image output device 100 is integrated. Moreover, the division pattern is referenced by a phase control processing section 5. |
