The oven has a solenoid that is activated when the magnetron (220) is started. The electronic components are housed in an enclosure that has a cooling fan (252) at one end and has a fixed lower plate supported from a fixed horizontal plate (120). The fixed horizontal plate is pierced by a number of holes (150). When the oven is off, the holes are closed by a hinged plate (310) that is pressed against the underside of the fixed plate. When the magnetron is active the solenoid (320) is activated, drawing the hinged plate away from the holes and allowing air from the fan to move over the electronic components. A hairpin spring closes the plate when the solenoid is not activated. |
