<p>The actuator has a container (18) with a number of collar sections (12). The collar sections have piezo-electric actuators (14,16) on either side. The piezo-electric actuators drive rods (34) moving in a step by step fashion, and the rods are coupled to a central shaft(10) which rotates in either direction dependent on piezo-electric drive. When the piezoelectric mechanisms are not electrically driven the piezoelectric mechanism returns to its original state without turning the shaft.</p> |
