An assembly for making a wall-traversing duct comprises an externally grooved sleeve (1) to extend through a wall or partition and enclose a pipe or cable passing through the wall or partition. The duct is installed by putting the sleeve (1) in position within the wall or partition and then locating on each end of the sleeve (1) a part-annular circlip (7). Each circlip has an internal flange (11) which locates within one of the grooves (3) of the sleeve (1). And end cap (9) is then snap-fitted on each circlip (7). The end cap (9) is the only item seen from the exterior of the wall or partition and provides a neat and pleasing appearance. <IMAGE>
