PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strengthen a swirl and prevent the occurrence of scattering in performance in manufacturing steps by improving on a shape of an intake port of an automobile engine. SOLUTION: An intake port 5 is divided into a perpendicular passage part 5a which opens to a combustion chamber 2 and an inclined passage part 5b which communicates with the perpendicular passage part 5a. A flat part 5d extending with respect to the inclined passage part 5b at an angle ofαis formed at a lower part of a boundary part 5c at which the perpendicular passage part 5a and the inclined passage part 5b are connected. The flat part 5d and the perpendicular passage part 5b constitute an edge 9. Due to a peeling phenomenon of the edge 9, a swirl of an air fuel mixture flowing along a wall surface becomes strong. Because of forming the flat part 5d, a predetermined edge form can be maintained even if a mismatch of the intake port 5 accurs in the time of manufacturing. Accordingly, scattering can be prevented from occurring from the viewpoint of its performance.
