PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject coating material capable of stably maintaining static resistance for a long time without damaging the coating performance, having high fouling resistance, manifesting good coloring flexibility and useful for coating a building component, etc., by formulating a specific proportion of an optical semiconductor in a specified inorganic coating material. SOLUTION: This coating material comprises (A) an inorganic coating material consisting essentially of a silicon resin [e.g. an organopolysiloxane of a hydrolyzed condensate of a hydrolyzable mixture comprising 100 pts.wt. compound of the formula R<2> Si(OR<1> )3 (R<1> and R<2> are each a monovalent hydrocarbon group), 20-200 pts.wt. compound of the formula Si(OR<1> )4 or colloidal silica, and 0-60 pts.wt. compound of the formula R<2> 2 Si(OR<1> )2 , and having >=900 weight average molecular weight in terms of styrene] and (B) an optical semiconductor (preferably the one carrying a metal such as silver and copper on the surface of the optical semiconductor of titanium oxide, zinc, oxide, etc.) and 2-80 pts.wt. component B is contained in 100 pts.wt. total of the component A and B. |
