摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip sealing material for a scroll member which can retain its strengths even under the action of water by using a polyphenylene sulfide resin as the main ingredient. SOLUTION: This chip sealing material for a scroll member contains at least 70wt.% polyphenylene sulfide resin, 1-10wt.% polytetrafluoroethylene resin, and 10-20wt.% polyacrylonitrile-derived carbon fibers. In a scroll compressor, a mixed fluid comprising a hydrofluorocarbon refrigerant and a polyvinyl ether lubricant is circulated through a refrigeration circuit. A chip sealing material 1 inserted into a groove 2 at the top of a spiral wall 25 of a movable scroll member 25 does not undergo the degradation in strengths even when exposed to the mixed fluid contg. water since the material 1 mainly comprises a polyphenylene sulfide resin. The polytetrafluoroethylene resin contained in the material has a low coefficient of friction and decreases the sliding resistance between the material and the scroll member. The polyacrylonitrile fibers increase the strengths.
