The shaft is movably fitted in the cover (1) and all tool functions are carried out by means of it. A feed device feeds a joining wire from a wire space (2) in the cover or from an external large roll. The wire runs through an internal conical ring (28) in order to enclose the reinforcement rods with a pair of semi-circular stirrups (33) which close around the bars. The tool functions with standard joining wire and the free end of the wire controls the process after surrounding the reinforcement rods independently of the size of the semi-circular stirrups when these are turned backwards into the internal conical ring (28), where they are picked up and retained by a monitoring and retention device (27), which also changes gear from feeding to stretching. The wire is drawn tightly against the reinforcement rods before it is cut and entwined by a cutting and entwining mechanism. |
