<p>In an echo canceller, a first adaptive filter circuit (11, 12) calculates first tap coefficients (H1) using a first convergence coefficient ( mu 1), and generates a first pseudo echo signal (HX1), and a first subtracter (13) subtracts the first pseudo echo signal from a transmitting signal to generate a first error signal (E1). A first adaptive filter circuit (14, 15) calculates second tap coefficients (H2) using a second convergence coefficient ( mu 2), and generates a second pseudo echo signal (HX2), and a second subtracter (16) subtracts the second pseudo echo signal from the transmitted signal to generate a second error signal (E2). A control circuit (21, 22) selects one set of the first tap coefficients and the second tap coefficients in accordance with a received signal (X), the transmitted signal, and the first and second error signals. A third adaptive filter circuit (17, 18, 19) generates a third pseudo echo signal (HX3) in accordance with the set of tap coefficients selected by the control circuit and the received signal, and a third subtracter (16) subtracts the third pseudo echo signal from the transmitted signal to generate a third error signal (E3). <IMAGE></p> |
