<p>The route planning system uses an electronic data processing unit in which specific data for the field, e.g. the coordinates of the field edges, are entered. Specific data for the agricultural vehicle, e.g. the working width, are entered as well. The optimum route for the vehicle is calculated using an algorithm which incorporates at least one optimisation criterion provided in digital form for a track guidance system. The data for the field edges are provided by scanning a land register map optically or with a digitiser. Alternatively, a portable GPS satellite receiver can be used to store the field details.</p> |
