PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a 'half-raw ink tank' for ink jet recorder comprising a liquid holding member containing chamber contributive to generation of negative pressure communicating with an ink containing chamber by a communication passage in which ink in the ink containing chamber can be used up by providing an ink introduction groove directed toward the communication passage. SOLUTION: The ink tank comprises a passage 8 communicating between a liquid holding member containing chamber 2 and an ink containing chamber 3, a port 9 for introducing the atmospheric air into the ink containing chamber 3 when the ink in a liquid holding member 5 is consumed and the quantity of ink is reduced to a specific amount, and an ink introduction groove 11. The ink introduction groove 11 is provided, in the form of a protruding groove around the bottom face of the ink containing chamber 3 and communicates with the liquid holding member 5 through the communication passage 8. Since ink 7 at the periphery or corner on the bottom face of the ink containing chamber 3 is sucked into the liquid holding member 5 through the introduction groove 11, unused residual ink in the ink containing chamber 3 is reduced significantly. |
