PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the optimum luminescent power, which allows maximally pulling out the power of an irradiation beam to a recording medium within limits of a maximum output of a light source and a maximum convergent rate of an optical system, with the number of trial write times as little as possible. SOLUTION: This method is provided with the steps (#101-#105) fixing bottom power of pulse luminescence, changing peak power and performing trial write when a beam from the light source pulse emitting light for recording information on the recording medium is converged by an objective lens, and the recording medium is irradiated with the beam, the step (#106) calculating optimum mean power from the bottom power and the peak power of the optimum conditions obtained from the trial write and the step (#107) redetermining the peak power and the bottom power by the calculation so as to lower the peak power and to increase the bottom power, based on the optimum mean power. |
