PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the photoelectric conversion device, which can be applied on a focal-point detector which is e.g. to focal-point detection applicable for a low-luminance subject and the detection response is not lowered. SOLUTION: The following parts are provided. A photoelectric conversion element 1 converts the optical image of a light receiving surface into the electric signal. A monitor output means 2 generates the monitored signal in correspondence with the charge storing amount of this element 1. A comparing means 3 compares this signal level with the first level and the second level larger than the first level. A storage control means 5 determines the storage finishing time of the element 1 based on the result of the comparing means 3. The control means 5 finishes or continues the storage operation based on whether the signal level reaches the second specified level earlier than the first time after the storage of the element 1 is started and extends or finishes the storing operation to the elapse of the second time, which is longer than the first time, based on whether the signal level at the elapse of the first time exceeds the first level or not. |
