<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously retrieve documents written in plural languages by a native language even in the case that the native language and the language inside the document data of a retrieval object are different and to specify translation to the native language at the time of displaying a retrieved result. SOLUTION: The two translation means of a free key word translation control means 3 for translating a key word and a retrieved result translation means 9 whose translation object is the entire retrieved document are respectively independently provided. Then, for the free key word translation means 3, since the object to be handled is the word of a noun and a verb, etc., the one of a simple translation function is selected. For the retrieved result translation means 9, since a normal document is handled, the one of a high-grade translation function for inferring appropriate translations from the context is selected. Thus, a translation speed is not lowered in the stage of frequently performing the change of a retrieval formula such as the addition, correction and elimination of the retrieval formula so as to improve the accuracy of the retrieved result, that is a processing stage in the free key word translation means 3, and the response of this entire system is improved.</p> |
