Hydraulic clearance compensation component for valve gear of internal combustion engine

The clearance compensation component is insertable in the receiving hole (2) of the internal combustion engine cylinder head. On the compensating piston (3b) is supported a tilting lever which operates a gas exchange valve, the piston being longitudinally displaceable in the cylindrical housing (3a) of the clearance compensation component. The housing has on the outside a truncated conical centering union (5) located on the correspondingly shaped wall (4) of the receiving hole. The centering union is provided in the upper end section of the housing and has an upward enlarging diameter in relation to the constant diameter of the housing in its longitudinal extent. The centering union can also be provided in the lower end section of the housing, in which case it has a downwardly reducing diameter in relation to the constant housing diameter.
