摘要 A pipe connection assembly (100; 300) is described as comprising, for each pipe connection (100; 300), two pipe ends (10A, 10B; 210A, 210B), a sleeve (102), and a resilient seal ring (110) which is preferably formed from a corrosion resistant material. Each pipe end (10A, 10B; 210A, 210B) comprises a torque shoulder (18A, 18B) which may taper inwardly away from the axial extremity (20) of the pipe, and a ring entrapment surface (22A, 22B) located radially inwardly of the pipe end (10A, 10B; 210A, 210B) torque shoulder (18A, 18B). The sleeve (102) has torque shoulders (106) which are substantially complementary to the pipe end (10A, 10B; 210A, 210B) torque shoulders (18A, 18B). At least a portion of one of the ring entrapment surfaces (22A, 22B) may be angled radially inwardly toward the other ring entrapment surface (22A, 22B). The configuration of the resilient seal ring (110) and of the ring entrapment surfaces (22A, 22B) co-operate to retain the resilient seal ring (110) within an annular cavity defined between the ring entrapment surfaces (22A, 22B) of the two pipe ends (10A, 10B; 210A, 210B). The pipe connection assembly (100; 300) is particularly suited for pipes carrying oil, gas or water at lower high pressure, such as casing tubulars.
