PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of bubbles without dropping the producibility of CRT. SOLUTION: Frit 14 is dried by two processes, i.e., S41 consisting of natural drying (i) and S42 consisting of forced drying. The forced S42 consists of a drying process using a heater (ii) and another process using a hot air (iii). The natural drying (i) is executed under such conditions as at a chamber temp. of 30±5 deg.C and with a humidity of 50±10% for five min or more. The drying with heater (ii) applies heat to the frit 14 from its rear side for 8±3min, wherein the temp. rising rate is set to 5±2 deg.C and the intra-furnace atmosphere temp. is set to 60±5±C. The drying with hot air (iii) is executed for 8±3min, wherein the temp. of the hot air is set to 30±5 deg.C and the rate of air flow is set to 2±1l/min.
