PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting structure for a simplified but rigid main stand for a scooter type vehicle. SOLUTION: This scooter type vehicle has a down frame 6 hanging down from a head pipe 5 to its rear lower part extending approximately horizontally to the rear from the lower part of a floor 29 and a rear frame 7 rising to the rear upper part at the rear end integrally connected to the rear end of the down frame 6 with a power unit 21 supported by the lower part of the rear frame 7 in an freely rotary manner. The front lower part 7a of the rear frame 7 is curved toward the low rear and extended to the rear so as to cover the lower part of the power unit 21, while a main stand 11 is fitted to the rear end of a rearwardly extended part 7d of the rear frame 7.
