Head position detection method for computer disc drive memory device

The head position detection method uses at least one servo sector with a number of tracks in which servo signals are recorded, with the head moved into alignment with a track at the cross-over point of two servo signals recorded above and below the track centre line and a third servo signal symmetrical to the centre line. The A/D conversion value at the cross-over point is detected and the head position is calculated by inserting the A/D conversion value in a given equation. The A/D conversion value may be determined over a number of rotations of the memory disc.
