An exchanging apparatus for cells each comprising a data portion and a header portion including destination information. The cells input through incoming lines are stored in respective buffer memoires selected by an incoming line spatial switch. Addresses of the stored cells in the buffer memories are managed for eachof the destinations of the cells. In accordance with the addresses under management for each destination, the cells stored in the buffer memories are read out and output to desired outgoing lines connected to the buffer memories through an outgoing line spatial switch.
