PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium holding a good printing grade and water resistance having the draping and touch of a support in an ink jet type printer. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording medium wherein an ink receiving layer is provided on the surface of a support, the peaks of the pore distribution curve of the ink jet recording medium are substantially present at one or more place within a range of 1μm below 5μm and at one or more place within 5μm-below 80μm and the peaks of the pore distribution curve of the support is substatially present at one or more place within a range of 1μm below 5μm and at one or more place within a range of 5μm-below 80μm.
