PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal working oil composition which contains no chlorine- containing extreme pressure additive, can be incinerated without causing environmental pollution and damage to the incinerator and can be used for low-speed heavy cutting by mixing a lubricating base oil with an overbased alkaline earth metal sulfonate, an overbased alkali metal sulfonate and a sulfur extreme pressure additive. SOLUTION: A lubricating base oil having a kinematic viscosity of 1-100mm<2> /s (40 deg.C) and a pour point of -10 deg.C or below is mixed with 0.1-30wt.%, based on the total weight of the composition, overbased alkaline earth metal sulfonate having a total basicity value (JIS K-2501, perchlorate method) of 200-800mgKOH/g, 0.1-30wt.% overbased alkali metal sulfonate having a total basicity value of 200-800mgKOH/g and 0-30wt.% sulfur extreme pressure additive. If necessary, known additives such as a phosphorus extreme pressure additive, an oiliness improver, an abrasion-proofing agent, an antioxidant, a metal inactivator, a sludge dispersing agent, a rust preventive and an antifoam, etc., are further formulated. |
