<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the production of wire reduced in fracture in the process of wire drawing and improved in mechanical properties by composing it of a specified weight compsn. contg. C, N, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, Cu, S, P, Al, Mg, Ti, and the balance Fe, specifying the relation among each element and specifying the compsn. of oxide inclusions. SOLUTION: The weight compsn. of a stainless steel is composed as follows: C<=40×10<-3> %, N<=40×10<-3> % (so as to satisfy C+N<=50×10<-3> ), 0.2<=Si<=1%, 0.2<=Mn<=5%, 9<=Ni<=12%, 15<=Cr<=20%, 1.5<=Cu<=4%, S<=10×10<-3> %, P<=0.05%, 40×10<-4> <= total oxygen <=120×10<-4> %, 0.1×10<-4> <=Al<=20×10<-4> %, Mg<=5×10<-4> %, 0.1×10<-4> <=Ca<=5×10<-4> %, Ti<=50×10<-4> %, and the balance Fe, and the inequalities I and II are satisfied. As for the oxide inclusions, 30<=Si<=65%, 5<=MnO<=40% or the like are regulated. Base wire with >=5mm diameter of this steel is subjected to wire drawing to form into drawn wire with <=0.3mm diameter.</p> |
