PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for producing a refractory for the sliding nozzle plate of a steelmaking furnace. SOLUTION: An alumina-zirconia spinel material consisting of 40-80.5wt.% alumina, 17-40wt.% zirconia and 0.5-18wt.% magnesia and contg. an alumina- zirconia spinel is mixed by 2-50wt.%, based on the total refractory material, with at least one kind of refractory material, carbon and at least one kind of metal powder are further added, and the admixture is kneaded with a binder such as phenol resin, compacted and then calcined in a reducing atmosphere. Consequently, the sliding nozzle plate with the resistance to wear, spalling and corrosion further improved than before is produced. |
