The biomaterial based on collagen comprises, intimately associated, a support or dermal substitute based on type IV collagen and an epidermal epithelium having differentiated cells obtained by the growth of epidermal cells on said support or dermal substitute. This biomaterial has applications in tests in vitro in toxicology, pharmacology, or cosmetology or as a protection of wounds and burns or as a cicatrisation agent.
