The shell (6) includes a projectile (12) designed to be launched from a firing platform or a tank. The projectile includes: - a load (31) including an energy source (32) feeding electronic circuits, a satellite locating system (33), an integrated inertial system (34), including accelerometers and gyrometers, a computer (35) and a radio transmitter. A generator (25) of a lighter than air gas, has its operation triggered after a time delay. An inflatable envelope (22) is filled by the gas generator.
