PURPOSE:To attain more uniform half tone high definition recording in which irregularity is suppressed. CONSTITUTION:An irregularity correction data storage part 7 stores the recording characteristic data of a recording element group to take charge of the recording, and a quarternarizing part 5 determines a weighted mean value from data re-quantized before in the vicinity of a remarked picture element and the recording characteristic data stored in the irregularity correction data storage part 7 on the basis of the data by using a prescribed weight coefficient, and re-quantizes the remarked picture element on the basis of this mean value and the quantizing error of a neighboring picture elements before the remarked picture element. |
