PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emphasize a stereoscopic sense and/or a glossy sense in the case of displaying a 2-dimension video image. SOLUTION: A luminance of a high luminance part of a luminance signal is enhanced more by signal processing sections 15L, 15R. In the processing to enhance the luminance, the luminance for a left eye video signal is set higher than the luminance of a right eye video signal and a difference of the luminance is produced between left and right video images. An ABL circuit is provided for projection CRTs 20L, 20R, and the ABL circuit decreases the luminance at a dark part toward a black level. Thus, the contrast is enhanced and a stereoscopic sense is emphasized. A projected light passes through a horizontally polarized light filter 21L and a vertically polarized light filter 21R to overlap the left and right video images on a screen 22. An eyeglass 23 having polarized light filters 24L, 24R is used to view left/right video images separately and a glitter sense is emphasized. |
