<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of recording and reproducing data by preventing the occurrence of speed loss and fluctuation. SOLUTION: A driving motor 10 is arranged in a position deviated from upper and lower areas of a tape cartridge 1, and this driving motor 10 is gear- connected with a drive system to make a driving roller 3 rotationally drivable. The drive system has a relay gear 9 meshed with and connected to a motor gear 12 of the driving motor 10 and a rubber roller 8 to be rotated integrally with this relay gear 9 and to be linked with the driving roller 3. Consequently, the driving device can be thin structive, and also transmission loss of the driving force of the motor as experienced in the conventional method of belt drive, etc., due to slippage can thus be reduced. Therefore, the device has an operation with a driving force transmitting characteristic equivalent to a structure of driving the driving roller directly by a driving shaft of the motor, and hence the reliability of recording and reproducing data is enhanced.</p> |
