<p>A separate type air conditioner whose outdoor unit can be readily and safely installed on the external surface of a house wall within a range manually accessible from above. The air conditioner comprises an indoor unit (1) installed in an indoor space (B); an outdoor unit (2) installed outside a house, working in coordination with the indoor unit (1), and provided with a hooking section (6) which is open downward, on the upper part of the back (5) of the outdoor unit (2); a mounting section (10) mounted on an external wall surface (C) in contact therewith with bolts (24); a holding section (11) provided on the upper part of the mounted section (10) and extending laterally to support from underneath the hooking section (6) engaging from above with this holding section (11); and an installation member (3) having a receiving part (12) provided on the front of the mounting section (10) in a lower position than the holding section (11) to receive the back (5) of the outdoor unit (2) at a prescribed place.</p> |
