<p>A detectable bobbin for a sewing machine including a substantially non-metallic detectable bobbin core (12). The core (12) includes a substantially non-metallic cylindrical body (20) having a detectable dopant (34) in the cylindrical body (20). In the preferred embodiment, the dopant (34) is magnetite. The thread supply (14) is wound about the bobbin core (12) after a frictional outer surface (16) is applied to the bobbin core (12) to aid in windability of the thread supply (14).</p> |
