Sun protection parasol with ventilation

The parasol has a vertical mast, with radially projecting parasol arms carrying solar radiation screens, and a ventilator unit. The arms (13) form part of the ventilator unit and are able to rotate about the longitudinal axis of the mast (12). The energy required to rotate the arms is generated by photo-voltaic elements, which are positioned on the upper surface of the flat solar radiation screens. The arms can be folded down to lie along the mast, and with increasing rotational speed, the arms are folded upwards. When a set speed has been exceeded, the arms lock into a rigid, fully extended position, and remain in this position even if the speed drops.
