<p>A device for indicating muscular effort during labour comprises a pressure sensor 1 for positioning in the genital region of a mother so as to sense a level of muscular effort by the mother, and an output device 5 for providing a representation of the sensed level. The sensor may be a fluid filled bulb 1 connected by a tube 2 to a differential pressure transducer 3. The output may be a visual display, a variable pitch tone, or synthesised speech. <IMAGE></p> |
