In a shift lock mechanism of a column AT shift lever device, a select plate (8) swingable by operation of a select cable (9) is pivoted to an end portion (2) of a shaft that is turnable by a shift lever (3). A distal end of the select plate is engageable with a detent plate (12). A shift lock plate (13) is provided on an outer surface of a retainer (1) holding the shaft, in such a manner that the shift lock plate is slidable relative to the retainer.
