Bicycle anti-theft device

The anti-theft device includes a lock mechanism which is disengaged so that the handlebars of a bicycle can turn freely with respect to the forks, so rendering the machine unridable. Unlike with conventional bicycle locks, applying force has no useful result. The lock can be engaged and disengaged only by using a key. If the appropriate key is not available, the only recourse is to saw through the tube on which the front forks swivel. Conversely, the handlebars could be locked to the frame of the bicycle.
