PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable change of a detectable amount of slippage of a folding register from a usual measure of several centimeters to a measure of a printed matter of one unit by providing a control means which receives the amount of slippage of the register as an input and outputs an operation amount and by conducting operations of inputting the operation amount and correcting the amount of slippage of the register. SOLUTION: A folder is constructed of a slitter 2, compensators 4a, 4b and 4c, a lapping part 5, a cutting part 6, a folding part 7, etc. A wide web 1 is first slit in the direction parallel with the direction of transfer of the web by a slitter 2 and divided into narrow webs 3a, 3b and 3c. The directions of transfer of the narrow webs 3a, 3b and 3c are changed at turn bars and the path lengths of these webs are changed by the compensators 4a, 4b and 4c respectively, whereby phases thereof are regulated. The phases are regulated so that the slippage of registers may be eliminated in the case when the narrow webs 3a, 3b and 3c are lapped over each other in the lapping part 5. This regulation is conducted automatically. |
