PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in dimension in the lateral direction of the whole of a device, and to prevent the generation of damage of documents by operating a discharged document stopper, which is provided near a tip of documents to be discharged, from a waiting position to a regulating position in response to the document size at the time of discharging documents. SOLUTION: A document regulating unit 170 for regulating a tip of documents to be discharged form a document discharging unit is formed of plural discharged document stopper mechanisms 171 and a driving mechanism. Plural number (9) of stopper mechanism 171 are arranged so as to correspond to documents of various size. A regulating unit 170 returns the stoppers from the regulating position to the waiting position so as to prevent the generation of damage of the document due to abutment of the document with the stoppers on the way of discharge. A discharge side of a document tray is positioned higher than a paper supplying side thereof so that the tip of the documents to be discharged is securely regulated by the stoppers of the stopper mechanism in the case where a document of different size is included in the documents to be supplied. Increase of dimension of a device is prevented by effectively using a space under the document tray 60.
