<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose an organic compound easily with a simple apparatus by a method wherein an organic compound fluid generating water contamination or air pollution is irradiated with ultraviolet rays generated with an excimer, and decomposed. SOLUTION: One end of an excimer lamp 1 is fixed to a fitting opening 10 on a top face 7 of a rectangular or cylindrical vertically long decomposition treatment tank 2, and its other end is dipped in a solution to be decomposed 3. The solution to be decomposed 3 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays emitted from the dipped excimer lamp 1, and decomposed into carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and water. Gas components of the decomposed carbon dioxide or the like go away as decomposed gas 4 from the solution to be decomposed 3, and discharged from a discharge opening 5 disposed on the top face 7 of the decomposition treating tank 2. Further, in the case where an exhaust pipe 6 and an activated charcoal filter are fitted, the decomposed gas 4 is further refined and exhausted outside. Thereby, an organic compound can be easily decomposed with a simple apparatus.</p> |
