A transgenic plant comprising nucleic acids encoding for an enzymatic nucleic acid molecule with RNA cleaving activity, wherein the nucleic acid molecule modulates the expression of a gene involved in the biosynthesis of alkaloid compounds of flower formation in a plant. An enzymatic nucleic acid molecule with RNA cleaving activity, wherein the nucleic acid molecule modulates the expression of solanidine UDP-glucose glucosyl-transferase gene or citrate synthase in plants.
